here’s all the lovely instructions on how to make a PET purse just for yourself
You need:
1 x plastic bottles (i went with green from iced tea bottles because it looks pretty)
1 x stanley knife
1 x glove (a heavy gardening glove is good this is to stop you cutting yourself with the knife)
1 x scissors
1 x small hobby drill or awl
1 x zip (you can match your bottle or go for a contrast)
1 x needle ( i used birch number 20)
1 x fishing line (you can go for normal thread i liked the illusion of see through fishing line)
1 x non markable pen
1 x ruler
1 x long rope (the length you want a bag)
using your ruler and pen mark out a line around the base of your bottle
holding the bottle with a glove in one hand and using you stanley knife in the other cut along a line big enough to fit your scissors in and stop
continue cutting along the line with your scissors, and if need be trim where you think it’s needs tidying up
wipe off the pen marks
do the same for the second bottle
mark out dots along the freshly cut rim set them 1/2 cm down and 1cm apart
using your needle or craft drill poke holes where you have marked
thread your needle with fishing line and sew on the zipper.
and you have a coin purse

to make a bag
poke holes in the top of your new purse
thread each of of the rope in a hole, and tie a good secure knot
and you have a bag
now if you are wondering what to do with the left over plastic you can still put it in your recycling bin
and if you can’t be arsed getting crafty here’s a linky where you can go shopping for my wee PET purse
and it’s called a PET purse becuase it looks like a Muppet and it’s made of Polyethylene terephthalate aka PET plastic
apparently it also looks like an hermes apple purse, but it’s a lot less expensive
