tomorrow is ANZAC day

by sue on April 24, 2009

ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps.
April 25th was the day the ANZAC force landed at Gallipoli in turkey during WW1
In the word of the RSA – who are brilliant “Since the first anniversary of the Gallipoli landing in 1916, ANZAC Day has evolved to acknowledge the sacrifice and service of subsequent wars and to encompass new understandings of the full impact of armed conflict on those who have served their country.”

To remember members of my family i planted a virtual poppy.
